^30 (A)And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward.

²² So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies, and he provided for them on every side. ²³ And many ^(A)brought gifts to the Lord to Jerusalem and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from that time onward.

^4 (A)It may be that the Lord your God heard all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent ^(B)to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for ^(C)the remnant that is left.”

³¹ And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah ^(A)shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. ^32 (B)For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. ^(C)The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

The Remnant of Israel Will Return

^20 (A)In that day ^(B)the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no more ^(C)lean on him who struck them, but ^(D)will lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. ²¹ A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, ^(E)to the mighty God. ^22 (F)For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, ^(G)only a remnant of them will return. ^(H)Destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness.
