²⁹ ‘This shall be a ^(A)sign to you:

⁸ And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, ^(A)“What is the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord the third day?”

⁹ Then Isaiah said, ^(B)“This is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing which He has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees or go backward ten degrees?”

²⁰ ‘And if you say, ^(A)“What shall we eat in the seventh year, since ^(B)we shall not sow nor gather in our produce?” ²¹ Then I will ^(C)command My blessing on you in the ^(D)sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years. ^22 (E)And you shall sow in the eighth year, and eat ^(F)old produce until the ninth year; until its produce comes in, you shall eat of the old harvest.

¹² So He said, ^(A)“I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a ^(B)sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

¹² And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a ^[a]manger.”

³⁰ “This shall be a sign to you:

^11 (A)“Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; ^[a]ask it either in the depth or in the height above.”

¹² But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!”

¹³ Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? ¹⁴ Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: ^(B)Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear ^(C)a Son, and shall call His name ^(D)Immanuel.^[b]

³⁴ Now this shall be ^(A)a sign to you that will come upon your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: ^(B)in one day they shall die, both of them.

⁴ but in the ^(A)seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn ^(B)rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard. ^5 (C)What grows of its own accord of your harvest you shall not reap, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine, for it is a year of rest for the land.
