Hezekiah King of Judah^(A)(B)(C)

18 In the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Hezekiah^(D) son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.

²⁷ Ahaz rested^(A) with his ancestors and was buried^(B) in the city of Jerusalem, but he was not placed in the tombs of the kings of Israel. And Hezekiah his son succeeded him as king.

Hezekiah Purifies the Temple^(C)

29 Hezekiah^(D) was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah.

²⁰ Ahaz rested^(A) with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David. And Hezekiah his son succeeded him as king.

Hoshea Last King of Israel^(B)

17 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea^(C) son of Elah became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned nine years.

⁹ In King Hezekiah’s fourth year,^(A) which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria marched against Samaria and laid siege to it.

² Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right^(A) in the eyes of the Lord his God.

³⁰ Then Hoshea^(A) son of Elah conspired against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked and assassinated^(B) him, and then succeeded him as king in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.
