² Ahaz was ^(A)twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God, as his father David had done,

² And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father; and he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. ³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet a boy, he began to seek the God of David his father, and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the ^(A)Asherim, and the carved and the metal images.

² And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.

Ahaz Reigns in Judah

28 ^(A)Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done, ² but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel. He even made ^(B)metal images for ^(C)the Baals, ³ and ^(D)he made offerings in the ^(E)Valley of the Son of Hinnom and ^(F)burned his sons as an offering,^[a] according to ^(G)the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel. ⁴ And he sacrificed and ^(H)made offerings on the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.

³ The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals,

² And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and walked in all the way of David his father, ^(A)and he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.

^3 (A)And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.

³⁴ And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, ^(A)according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

³ And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

³ And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, yet not like David his father. He did in all things as Joash his father had done.
