³⁸ When Jotham died, he was buried with his ancestors in the City of David. And his son Ahaz became the next king.

28 Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. He did not do what was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, as his ancestor David had done.

16 Ahaz son of Jotham began to rule over Judah in the seventeenth year of King Pekah’s reign in Israel.

³¹ When Rehoboam died, he was buried among his ancestors in the City of David. His mother was Naamah, an Ammonite woman. Then his son Abijam^[a] became the next king.

²⁰ Jeroboam reigned in Israel twenty-two years. When Jeroboam died, his son Nadab became the next king.

² So his advisers told him, “Let us find a young virgin to wait on you and look after you, my lord. She will lie in your arms and keep you warm.”
