¹² This was the word of the Lord which He spoke to Jehu, saying, ^(A)“Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” And so it was.

³⁰ And the Lord ^(A)said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in doing what is right in My sight, and have done to the house of Ahab all that was in My heart, ^(B)your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”

¹⁶ “Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, ^(A)which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, ^(B)who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;

³⁶ For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, ^(A)“Not one of His bones shall be broken.” ³⁷ And again another Scripture says, ^(B)“They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”

²⁴ They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says:

Therefore the soldiers did these things.

³⁵ If He called them gods, ^(A)to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture ^(B)cannot be broken),

³¹ Heaven and earth will pass away, but ^(A)My words will by no means pass away.

“So they returned and said:

²⁹ So Jeroboam ^[a]rested with his fathers, the kings of Israel. Then ^(A)Zechariah his son reigned in his place.

¹³ So Joash ^(A)rested^[a] with his fathers. Then Jeroboam sat on his throne. And Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
