²⁴ And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, ^(A)which he made Israel to sin.

^6 (A)And he burned his son as an offering^[a] and ^(B)used fortune-telling and ^(C)omens and dealt ^(D)with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

¹¹ He also did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, ^(A)which he made Israel to sin, but he walked in them.

⁶ Nevertheless, they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, ^(A)which he made Israel to sin, but walked^[a] in them; and ^(B)the Asherah also remained in Samaria.)

² He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, ^(A)which he made Israel to sin; he did not depart from them.

Ahab's Repentance

²⁵ (^(A)There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited.

²⁸ So the king took counsel and ^(A)made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, “You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. ^(B)Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.” ²⁹ And he set one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan. ³⁰ Then ^(C)this thing became a sin, for the people went as far as Dan to be before one.^{[a] 31} He also made ^(D)temples on high places and ^(E)appointed priests from among all the people, who were not of the Levites.

¹⁸ Then I ^(A)lay prostrate before the Lord ^(B)as before, forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all the sin that you had committed, ^(C)in doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke him to anger.
