¹⁹ Then he took the captains of hundreds, the bodyguards, the escorts, and all the people of the land; and they brought the king down from the house of the Lord, and went by way of the gate of the escorts to the king’s house. Then he sat on the throne of the kings.

The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations

^31 (A)“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the ^[a]holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.

²⁸ So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, ^(A)you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

⁴ For if you indeed do this thing, ^(A)then shall enter the gates of this house, riding on horses and in chariots, accompanied by servants and people, kings who sit on the throne of David.

^25 (A)then shall enter the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, accompanied by the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall remain forever.

¹⁹ And he set the ^(A)gatekeepers at the gates of the house of the Lord, so that no one who was in any way unclean should enter.

⁵ one-third shall be at the king’s house; and one-third at the Gate of the Foundation. All the people shall be in the courts of the house of the Lord.

²³ Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

Joash Crowned King of Judah^(A)

⁴ In ^(B)the seventh year Jehoiada sent and brought the captains of hundreds—of the bodyguards and the ^[a]escorts—and brought them into the house of the Lord to him. And he made a covenant with them and took an oath from them in the house of the Lord, and showed them the king’s son. ⁵ Then he commanded them, saying, “This is what you shall do: One-third of you who ^[b]come on duty ^(C)on the Sabbath shall be keeping watch over the king’s house, ⁶ one-third shall be at the gate of Sur, and one-third at the gate behind the escorts. You shall keep the watch of the house, lest it be broken down.
