Elijah Denounces Ahaziah

1 ^(A)After the death of Ahab, Moab ^(B)rebelled against Israel.

^2 (A)And he defeated Moab and he measured them with a line, making them lie down on the ground. Two lines he measured to be put to death, and one full line to be spared. And the Moabites ^(B)became servants to David and ^(C)brought tribute.

⁴ Now Mesha king of Moab was a sheep breeder, ^(A)and he had to deliver to the king of Israel 100,000 lambs and the wool of 100,000 rams. ⁵ But ^(B)when Ahab died, the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
