⁹ Everyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it,^[a] does not have God; whoever abides in the teaching^[b] has both the Father and the Son.^(A)

¹⁶ Then Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine but his who sent me.^{(A) 17} Anyone who resolves to do the will of God will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own.^(B)

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ^[a] dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.^[b](A)

²² Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ?^[a] This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ No one who denies the Son has the Father; everyone who confesses the Son has the Father also.^{(A) 24} Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father.^(B)

³ what we have seen and heard we also declare to you so that you also may have fellowship with us, and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.^(A)

⁴² They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

¹⁰ not stealing, but showing complete and perfect fidelity, so that in everything they may be an ornament to the teaching of God our Savior.

⁶ Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away like a branch and withers; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.

⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.^(A)

²³ so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.^(A)
