8 Heruvimii aveau aripile întinse deasupra locului unde se afla Chivotul, astfel încât heruvimii acopereau atât Chivotul, cât şi drugii acestuia. 9 Drugilor li se dăduse o asemenea lungime, încât să li se vadă capetele din Locul Sfânt care era în faţa sanctuarului interior, dar să nu se vadă de afară; ei sunt acolo şi astăzi. 10 În Chivot nu se mai aflau decât cele două table puse de Moise la Horeb, atunci când Domnul a încheiat legământ cu israeliţii, după ce aceştia au ieşit din Egipt.

8 Heruvimii aveau aripile întinse peste locul chivotului şi acopereau chivotul şi drugii lui pe deasupra. 9 Drugilor li se dăduse o astfel de lungime încât capetele lor se vedeau la o depărtare de chivot dinaintea Sfântului Locaş, dar nu se vedeau de afară. Chivotul a fost acolo până în ziua de azi. 10 În chivot nu erau decât cele două table, pe care le pusese(A) acolo Moise, în Horeb, când a făcut Domnul legământ cu copiii lui Israel, la ieşirea lor din Egipt.

8 For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles. 9 The poles extended so that the ends of the (A)poles of the ark could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And [a]they are there to this day. 10 Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets which Moses (B)put there at Horeb, [b]when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they had come out of Egypt.
