20 După ea, a luat pe Maaca(A), fata lui Absalom. Ea i-a născut pe Abia, pe Atai, pe Ziza şi pe Şelomit. 21 Roboam iubea pe Maaca, fata lui Absalom, mai mult decât pe toate nevestele şi ţiitoarele lui, căci a avut optsprezece neveste şi şaizeci de ţiitoare şi a născut douăzeci şi opt de fii şi şaizeci de fete. 22 Roboam a dat cel dintâi loc lui Abia, fiul Maachei, şi l-a pus(B) căpetenie peste fraţii lui, căci voia să-l facă împărat.

20 Then he married Maakah(A) daughter of Absalom, who bore him Abijah,(B) Attai, Ziza and Shelomith. 21 Rehoboam loved Maakah daughter of Absalom more than any of his other wives and concubines. In all, he had eighteen wives(C) and sixty concubines, twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 Rehoboam appointed Abijah(D) son of Maakah as crown prince among his brothers, in order to make him king.

21 And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
22 And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
