Josías, rey de Judá(A)(B)

34 Josías tenía ocho años cuando ascendió al trono, y reinó en Jerusalén treinta y un años. Josías hizo lo que agrada al Señor, pues siguió el buen ejemplo de su antepasado David; no se desvió de él en el más mínimo detalle.

En el año octavo de su reinado, siendo aún muy joven, Josías comenzó a buscar al Dios de su antepasado David. En el año duodécimo empezó a purificar a Judá y a Jerusalén, quitando los santuarios paganos, las imágenes de la diosa Aserá, y los ídolos y las imágenes de metal fundido.

34 Josiah (B)was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still (C)young, he began to (D)seek the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began (E)to purge Judah and Jerusalem (F)of the [a]high places, the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images.

Ang Paghahari ni Josia sa Juda(A)

34 Si Josia ay walong taong gulang nang maging hari. Sa Jerusalem siya tumira, at naghari siya roon sa loob ng 31 taon. Matuwid ang ginawa niya sa paningin ng Panginoon at sumunod siya sa pamumuhay ng ninuno niyang si David. At hindi siya tumigil sa paggawa ng tama.

Nang ikawalong taon ng paghahari niya, habang bata pa siya, nagsimula siyang dumulog sa Dios ng kanyang ninunong si David. At noong 12 taon ng paghahari niya, nilinis niya ang Juda at Jerusalem sa pamamagitan ng pagpapagiba ng mga sambahan sa matataas na lugar,[a] ng mga posteng simbolo ng diosang si Ashera, ng mga dios-diosan at mga imahen.

34 Josiah was only eight years old when he became king. He reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His was a good reign, as he carefully followed the good example of his ancestor King David. For when he was sixteen years old, in the eighth year of his reign, he began to search for the God of his ancestor David; and four years later he began to clean up Judah and Jerusalem, destroying the heathen altars and the shameful idols on the hills.
