13 Questa è la terza volta che vengo da voi. Ogni questione si deciderà sulla dichiarazione di due o tre testimoni. 2 L'ho detto prima e lo ripeto ora, allora presente per la seconda volta e ora assente, a tutti quelli che hanno peccato e a tutti gli altri: quando verrò di nuovo non perdonerò più, 3 dal momento che cercate una prova che Cristo parla in me, lui che non è debole, ma potente in mezzo a voi. 4 Infatti egli fu crocifisso per la sua debolezza, ma vive per la potenza di Dio. E anche noi che siamo deboli in lui, saremo vivi con lui per la potenza di Dio nei vostri riguardi.
5 Esaminate voi stessi se siete nella fede, mettetevi alla prova. Non riconoscete forse che Gesù Cristo abita in voi? A meno che la prova non sia contro di voi! 6 Spero tuttavia che riconoscerete che essa non è contro di noi. 7 Noi preghiamo Dio che non facciate alcun male, e non per apparire noi superiori nella prova, ma perché voi facciate il bene e noi restiamo come senza prova. 8 Non abbiamo infatti alcun potere contro la verità, ma per la verità; 9 perciò ci rallegriamo quando noi siamo deboli e voi siete forti. Noi preghiamo anche per la vostra perfezione. 10 Per questo vi scrivo queste cose da lontano: per non dover poi, di presenza, agire severamente con il potere che il Signore mi ha dato per edificare e non per distruggere.

11 Per il resto, fratelli, state lieti, tendete alla perfezione, fatevi coraggio a vicenda, abbiate gli stessi sentimenti, vivete in pace e il Dio dell'amore e della pace sarà con voi. 12 Salutatevi a vicenda con il bacio santo. Tutti i santi vi salutano.
13 La grazia del Signore Gesù Cristo, l'amore di Dio e la comunione dello Spirito Santo siano con tutti voi.

13 هَذِهِ الْمَرَّةُ الثَّالِثَةُ الَّتِي آتِي فِيهَا إِلَيْكُمْ. بِشَهَادَةِ شَاهِدَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاثَةٍ يَثْبُتُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ. 2 سَبَقَ لِي أَنْ أَعْلَنْتُ، وَهَا أَنَا أَقُولُ مُقَدَّماً وَأَنَا غَائِبٌ، كَمَا قُلْتُ وَأَنَا حَاضِرٌ عِنْدَكُمْ فِي الْمَرَّةِ الثَّانِيَةِ، لِلَّذِينَ أَخْطَأُوا فِي الْمَاضِي وَلِلْبَاقِينَ جَمِيعاً: إِنِّي إِذَا عُدْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ فَلا أُشْفِقُ، 3 مَادُمْتُمْ تَطْلُبُونَ بُرْهَاناً عَلَى أَنَّ الْمَسِيحَ يَتَكَلَّمُ فِيَّ. وَهُوَ لَيْسَ ضَعِيفاً تُجَاهَكُمْ، بَلْ قَوِيٌّ فِي مَا بَيْنَكُمْ. 4 فَمَعَ أَنَّهُ قَدْ صُلِبَ فِي ضَعْفٍ، فَهُوَ الآنَ حَيٌّ بِقُدْرَةِ اللهِ. وَنَحْنُ أَيْضاً ضُعَفَاءُ فِيهِ، وَلكِنَّنَا، بِتَصَرُّفِنَا مَعَكُمْ، سَنَكُونُ أَحْيَاءَ مَعَهُ بِقُدْرَةِ اللهِ. 5 لِذَلِكَ امْتَحِنُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ لِتَرَوْا هَلْ أَنْتُمْ فِي الإِيمَانِ. اخْتَبِرُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ. أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْرِفُونَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ، أَنَّ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحَ فِيكُمْ، إِلّا إِذَا تَبَيَّنَ أَنَّكُمْ فَاشِلُونَ؟ 6 غَيْرَ أَنِّي أَرْجُو أَنَّهُ سَيَتَبَيَّنُ لَكُمْ أَنَّنَا نَحْنُ لَسْنَا فَاشِلِينَ.
7 وَنُصَلِّي إِلَى اللهِ أَلّا تَفْعَلُوا أَيَّ شَرٍّ، لَا لِكَيْ يَتَبَيَّنَ أَنَّنَا نَحْنُ فَاضِلُونَ، بَلْ لِكَيْ تَفْعَلُوا أَنْتُمْ مَا هُوَ حَقٌّ، وَإِنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ كَأَنَّنَا فَاشِلُونَ. 8 فَإِنَّنَا لَا نَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ نَفْعَلَ شَيْئاً ضِدَّ الْحَقِّ بَلْ لأَجْلِ الْحَقِّ. 9 وَكَمْ نَفْرَحُ عِنْدَمَا نَكُونُ نَحْنُ ضُعَفَاءَ وَتَكُونُونَ أَنْتُمْ أَقْوِيَاءَ؛ حَتَّى إِنَّنَا نُصَلِّي طَالِبِينَ لَكُمُ الْكَمَالَ! 10 لِهَذَا أَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الأُمُورِ وَأَنَا غَائِبٌ، حَتَّى إِذَا حَضَرْتُ لَا أَلْجَأُ إِلَى الْحَزْمِ بِحَسَبِ السُّلْطَةِ الَّتِي مَنَحَنِي إِيَّاهَا الرَّبُّ لِلْبُنْيَانِ لَا لِلْهَدْمِ.

11 وَأَخِيراً، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ: افْرَحُوا؛ تَكَمَّلُوا؛ تَشَجَّعُوا؛ اتَّفِقُوا فِي الرَّأْيِ؛ عِيشُوا بِسَلامٍ. وَإِلَهُ الْمَحَبَّةِ وَالسَّلامِ سَيَكُونُ مَعَكُمْ!
12 سَلِّمُوا بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ بِقُبْلَةٍ طَاهِرَةٍ. 13 جَمِيعُ الْقِدِّيسِينَ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ.
14 وَلْتَكُنْ مَعَكُمْ جَمِيعاً نِعْمَةُ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، وَمَحَبَّةُ اللهِ، وَشَرِكَةُ الرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ. آمِين!

13 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.
13 All the saints salute you.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
