2 Corinto 1
Ang Biblia (1978)
1 Si Pablo, na (A)Apostol ni Cristo Jesus sa pamamagitan ng kalooban ng Dios, at (B)si Timoteo, na ating kapatid sa Iglesia ng Dios na nasa (C)Corinto, (D)kalakip ng lahat ng mga banal na nasa buong Acaya.
2 Sumainyo nawa ang biyaya at kapayapaang (E)mula sa Dios na ating Ama at sa Panginoong Jesucristo.
3 Purihin nawa ang Dios (F)at Ama ng ating Panginoong Jesucristo, ang Ama ng mga kaawaan at Dios ng buong kaaliwan;
4 Na siyang umaaliw sa atin sa lahat ng kapighatian, upang ating maaliw ang nangasa anomang kapighatian, sa pamamagitan ng pagaliw na inialiw din sa atin ng Dios.
5 Sapagka't kung paanong sumasagana sa atin (G)ang mga sakit ni Cristo, ay gayon din naman ang aming kaaliwan ay sumasagana sa pamamagitan ni Cristo.
6 Datapuwa't maging kami man ay mapighati, (H)ay para sa inyong kaaliwan at kaligtasan; o maging kami man ay maaliw ay para sa inyong kaaliwan, na siyang gumagawa sa pagdadalitang may pagtitiis ng mga gayon ding pagbabata na amin namang binabata:
7 At ang aming pagasa tungkol sa inyo ay matibay; yamang nalalaman na (I)kung paanong kayo'y mga karamay sa mga sakit, ay gayon din naman kayo sa kaaliwan.
8 Hindi namin ibig na kayo'y di makaalam, mga kapatid, ng tungkol sa mga kapighatian (J)namin na nangyari sa Asia, na kami ay totoong nabigatan, ng higit sa aming kaya, ano pa't (K)kami ay nawalan na ng pagasa sa buhay:
9 Oo, kami'y nagkaroon sa aming sarili ng hatol sa kamatayan, upang huwag kaming magkatiwala sa amin ding sarili, kundi sa Dios (L)na bumubuhay na maguli ng mga patay:
10 Na siyang sa amin ay nagligtas sa gayong lubhang malaking kamatayan, at nagliligtas: na siya naming inaasahan na siya namang magliligtas pa sa amin;
11 Kayo (M)naman na nagsisitulong ng inyong panalangin na patungkol sa amin; upang dahil sa kaloob na ipinagkaloob sa amin (N)sa pamamagitan ng marami, ay makapagpasalamat ang maraming tao dahil sa amin.
12 Sapagka't ang aming pagmamapuri ay ito, ang pagpapatotoo ng aming budhi, ayon sa (O)kabanalan at (P)pagtatapat sa Dios, (Q)hindi ayon sa karunungan ng laman, kundi sa biyaya ng Dios, na kami'y nagugali ng gayon sa sanglibutan at lalong sagana pa nga sa inyo.
13 Sapagka't hindi namin kayo sinusulatan ng ibang mga bagay, maliban na sa inyong binabasa, o kinikilala, at umaasa ako na inyong kikilalanin hanggang sa katapusan:
14 Gaya naman (R)ng inyong bahagyang pagkilala sa amin, na kami'y inyong kapurihan, gayon din naman kayo'y sa amin, (S)sa araw ng Panginoong si Jesus.
15 At sa pagkakatiwalang ito ay (T)ninasa kong pumariyan muna sa inyo, upang kayo'y mangagkaroon (U)ng pangalawang pakinabang;
16 At magdaan sa inyo na patungo sa Macedonia, (V)at muling buhat sa Macedonia ay magbalik sa inyo, at (W)nang tulungan ninyo ako sa paglalakbay ko sa Judea.
17 Nang nasain ko nga ang ganito, ako baga kaya ay nagatubili? o ang mga bagay na ninasa ko, ay mga ninasa ko baga ayon sa laman, upang magkaroon sa akin ng oo, oo, at ng hindi, hindi?
18 Nguni't palibhasa'y ang Dios ay tapat, ang aming salita sa inyo ay di oo at hindi.
19 Sapagka't ang Anak ng Dios, si Jesucristo, na ipinangaral namin sa inyo, ako at si (X)Silvano at si (Y)Timoteo, hindi naging oo at hindi, kundi sa kaniya ay naging oo.
20 Sapagka't (Z)maging gaano man ang mga pangako ng Dios, ay nasa kaniya ang oo: kaya nga naman na sa kaniya ang Siya Nawa sa ikaluluwalhati ng Dios sa pamamagitan namin.
21 Ngayon, siya na ang nagpapatibay sa amin na kasama ninyo kay Cristo, at nagpahid (AA)sa atin, ay ang Dios,
22 Na siyang nagtatak naman (AB)sa atin, at (AC)nagbigay ng patotoo ng Espiritu sa ating mga puso.
23 Datapuwa't ang Dios ang tinatawag kong maging saksi sa aking kaluluwa, na (AD)upang huwag kayong papagdamdamin ay hindi muna ako napariyan sa Corinto.
24 Hindi sa kami ay may pagkapanginoon sa inyong pananampalataya, kundi kami ay mga tagatulong sa inyong katuwaan: sapagka't (AE)sa pananampalataya kayo'y nangagsisitatag.
2 Corinthians 1
Expanded Bible
1 From Paul, an ·apostle [messenger] of Christ Jesus. ·I am an apostle because that is what God wanted [L …by the will of God]. Also from Timothy [Acts 16:1–5; 1 Cor. 16:10–11; Phil. 2:19–24; 1–2 Timothy] our ·brother in Christ [L brother].
To the church of God in Corinth, and to all ·of God’s people [T the saints] everywhere in Achaia [C the Roman province where the city of Corinth was located, present day southern Greece]:
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul Gives Thanks to God
3 ·Praise be to [Blessed is/be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father who is full of ·mercy [compassion] and all ·comfort [encouragement]. 4 He ·comforts [encourages] us ·every time we have [L in all our] ·troubles [trials; tribulation], so when others have ·trouble [any trials/tribulation], we can ·comfort [encourage] them with the same ·comfort [encouragement] God gives us. 5 [L For just as] ·We share in the many sufferings of Christ [L Christ’s sufferings abound in us]. In the same way, ·much comfort comes to us [L our comfort abounds] through Christ. 6 If we have ·troubles [trials; tribulation], it is for your ·comfort [encouragement] and salvation, and if we ·have comfort [are encouraged], ·you also have comfort [or it is for your comfort/encouragement]. This helps you to accept patiently the same sufferings we have. 7 Our hope for you is ·strong [unshaken; firm], knowing that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the ·comfort [encouragement] we receive.
8 Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the ·trouble [trial; tribulation] we suffered in Asia [C a Roman province in present-day western Turkey]. We had great burdens there that were beyond our own strength, so that we even ·gave up hope of living [L despaired of life]. 9 Truly, in our own hearts we believed we ·would die [L had been sentenced to death]. But this happened so we would not trust in ourselves but in God, who raises people from the dead. 10 God ·saved [rescued; delivered] us from these great dangers of death, and he will continue to ·save [rescue; deliver] us. We have put our hope in him, and he will ·save [rescue; deliver] us again. 11 ·And you can [or …as you] help us with your prayers. Then many people will give thanks for us—·that God blessed [for the gift/favor given to] us because of their many prayers.
The Change in Paul’s Plans
12 This is ·what we are proud of [L our boast], ·and I can say it with a clear conscience [L the testimony/witness of our conscience]: In everything we have done in the world, and especially with you, we have had an ·honest[a] [or generous] and sincere heart from God. We did this by God’s grace, not by ·the kind of wisdom the world has [worldly/fleshly wisdom].
15 I was so sure of all this that I made plans to visit you first so you could ·be blessed twice [L have a second grace]. 16 I planned to visit you on my way to Macedonia [C the northern part of present-day Greece; Acts 19:21; 20:1, 2] and again on my way back [C the visit anticipated in 1 Cor. 16:5]. I wanted to ·get help from you for my trip [L be sent by you] to Judea. 17 [L So; Therefore] Do you think that I made these plans ·without really meaning it [lightly; with vacillation]? Or maybe you think I make plans ·as the world does [or using only human standards/reason; L according to the flesh], so that I say yes, yes and at the same time no, no.
18 But ·since you can believe God [L God is trustworthy/faithful], you can believe that what we tell you is never both yes and no. 19 [L For] The Son of God, Jesus Christ, that Silas and Timothy and I preached to you, was not yes and no. [L But; Rather] In ·Christ [L him] it has always been yes. 20 The yes to all of God’s promises is in ·Christ [L him], and through Christ we say ·yes [L amen; C from a Hebrew term meaning “yes,” or “it is true”] to the glory of God. 21 Remember, God is the One who makes you and us ·strong [stand firm; established] in Christ. God ·made us his chosen people [or commissioned us; L anointed us]. 22 He put his ·mark on us to show that we are his [L seal on us; C of ownership], and he put his Spirit in our hearts ·to be a guarantee for all he has promised [L as a pledge/deposit/downpayment].
23 Now I ·ask [call on; appeal to] God to be my witness ·that this is true [or staking my life on it; L against my soul/life; C a very serious vow or oath]: The reason I did not come back to Corinth was to ·keep you from being punished or hurt [L spare you]. 24 We are not trying to ·control [rule; lord it over] your faith. You ·are strong [stand firm; are well established] in faith. But we are workers with you for your own joy.

Sofferenza e conforto di Paolo
3 (C)Benedetto sia il Dio e Padre del nostro Signore Gesú Cristo, il Padre misericordioso e Dio di ogni consolazione, 4 il quale ci consola in ogni nostra afflizione, affinché, mediante la consolazione con la quale siamo noi stessi da Dio consolati, possiamo consolare quelli che si trovano in qualunque afflizione; 5 perché, come abbondano in noi le sofferenze di Cristo, cosí, per mezzo di Cristo, abbonda anche la nostra consolazione. 6 Perciò se siamo afflitti, è per la vostra consolazione e salvezza; se siamo consolati, è per la vostra consolazione, la quale opera efficacemente nel farvi capaci di sopportare le stesse sofferenze che anche noi sopportiamo. 7 La nostra speranza nei vostri riguardi è salda, sapendo che, come siete partecipi delle sofferenze, siete anche partecipi della consolazione.
8 Fratelli, non vogliamo che ignoriate riguardo all'afflizione che ci colse in *Asia, che siamo stati molto provati, oltre le nostre forze, tanto da farci disperare perfino della vita. 9 Anzi, avevamo già noi stessi pronunciato la nostra sentenza di morte, affinché non mettessimo la nostra fiducia in noi stessi, ma in Dio che risuscita i morti. 10 Egli ci ha liberati e ci libererà[a] [da un cosí gran pericolo di morte, e abbiamo la speranza che ci libererà] ancora. 11 Cooperate anche voi con la preghiera, affinché per il favore divino[b] che noi otterremo per mezzo della preghiera di molte persone, siano rese grazie da molti per noi.
Sincerità di Paolo
12 (D)Questo, infatti, è il nostro vanto: la testimonianza della nostra coscienza di esserci comportati nel mondo, e specialmente verso di voi, con la semplicità e la sincerità di Dio[c], non con sapienza carnale ma con la grazia di Dio. 13 Poiché non vi scriviamo altro se non quello che potete leggere e comprendere; e spero che sino alla fine capirete, 14 come in parte avete già capito, che noi siamo il vostro vanto, come anche voi sarete il nostro nel *giorno del nostro Signore Gesú.
15 Con questa fiducia, per procurarvi un duplice beneficio, volevo venire prima da voi 16 e, passando da voi, volevo andare in Macedonia; poi dalla Macedonia ritornare in mezzo a voi e voi mi avreste fatto proseguire per la *Giudea. 17 Prendendo dunque questa decisione ho forse agito con leggerezza? Oppure le mie decisioni sono dettate dalla carne, in modo che in me ci sia allo stesso tempo il «sí, sí» e il «no, no»? 18 Or come è vero che Dio è fedele, la parola che vi abbiamo rivolta non è «sí» e «no». 19 Perché il *Figlio di Dio, Cristo Gesú, che è stato da noi predicato fra voi, cioè da me, da *Silvano e da *Timoteo, non è stato «sí» e «no»; ma è sempre stato «sí» in lui. 20 Infatti tutte le promesse di Dio hanno il loro «sí» in lui; perciò pure per mezzo di lui noi pronunciamo l'Amen alla gloria di Dio. 21 Or colui che con voi ci fortifica in Cristo e che ci ha unti, è Dio; 22 egli ci ha pure segnati con il proprio sigillo e ha messo la caparra dello Spirito nei nostri cuori.
Tristezza e gioia di Paolo
23 (E)Ora io chiamo Dio come testimone sulla mia vita che è per risparmiarvi che non sono piú venuto a Corinto. 24 Noi non signoreggiamo sulla vostra fede, ma siamo collaboratori della vostra gioia, perché nella fede già state saldi.
