9 ¶ Porque en cuanto a la suministración para los santos, por demás me es escribiros;
2 pues conozco vuestro pronto ánimo, del cual me glorío yo entre los de Macedonia, que Acaya está apercibida desde el año pasado; y vuestro celo ha estimulado a muchos.
3 Mas he enviado los hermanos, para que nuestro gloriarnos de vosotros no sea vano en esta parte; para que, como lo he dicho, estéis apercibidos;
4 no sea que, si vinieren conmigo macedonios, y os hallaren desprevenidos, nos avergoncemos nosotros, por no decir vosotros, de esta nuestra confianza.
5 Por tanto, tuve por cosa necesaria exhortar a los hermanos que fueran primero a vosotros, y prepararan primero vuestra bendición antes prometida para que esté aparejada como de bendición, y no como de mezquindad.
6 ¶ Pero esto digo: El que siembra escasamente, también segará escasamente; y el que siembra en bendiciones, en bendiciones también segará.
7 Cada uno como propuso en su corazón (haga): no con tristeza, o por necesidad; porque Dios ama al dador alegre.
8 Y poderoso es Dios para hacer que abunde en vosotros toda gracia; a fin de que, teniendo siempre en todas las cosas todo lo que basta, abundéis para toda buena obra;
9 como está escrito: Derramó, dio a los pobres; su justicia permanece para siempre.
10 Y el que da la simiente al que siembra, también dará pan para comer, y multiplicará vuestra sementera, y aumentará los crecimientos de los frutos de vuestra justicia;
11 para que enriquecidos en todo abundéis en toda bondad, la cual obra por nosotros acción de gracias a Dios.
12 Porque la suministración de este servicio, no solamente suple lo que a los santos falta, sino también abunda en muchas acciones de gracias a Dios;
13 que por la experiencia de esta suministración glorifican a Dios por la obediencia de vuestro consentimiento en el Evangelio del Cristo, y en la bondad de la comunicación para con ellos y para con todos;
14 y en la oración de ellos a favor vuestro, los cuales os quieren a causa de la eminente gracia de Dios en vosotros.
15 Gracias a Dios por su don inefable.

9 There is no need(A) for me to write to you about this service(B) to the Lord’s people.(C) 2 For I know your eagerness to help,(D) and I have been boasting(E) about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year(F) you in Achaia(G) were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. 3 But I am sending the brothers(H) in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove hollow, but that you may be ready, as I said you would be.(I) 4 For if any Macedonians(J) come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to say anything about you—would be ashamed of having been so confident. 5 So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers(K) to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift,(L) not as one grudgingly given.(M)
Generosity Encouraged
6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.(N) 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,(O) not reluctantly or under compulsion,(P) for God loves a cheerful giver.(Q) 8 And God is able(R) to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need,(S) you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food(V) will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.(W) 11 You will be enriched(X) in every way so that you can be generous(Y) on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.(Z)
12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs(AA) of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.(AB) 13 Because of the service(AC) by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God(AD) for the obedience that accompanies your confession(AE) of the gospel of Christ,(AF) and for your generosity(AG) in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God(AH) for his indescribable gift!(AI)
