Características del ministerio cristiano
6 Y como colaboradores con Él(A), también os exhortamos(B) a no recibir la gracia de Dios(C) en vano; 2 pues Él dice:
En el tiempo propicio te escuché,
y en el día de salvación te socorrí(D).
He aquí, ahora es el tiempo propicio; he aquí, ahora es el día de salvación. 3 No dando nosotros en nada motivo de tropiezo, para que el ministerio no sea desacreditado(E), 4 sino que en todo nos recomendamos a nosotros mismos como ministros[a] de Dios(F), en mucha perseverancia, en aflicciones, en privaciones, en angustias(G), 5 en azotes, en cárceles(H), en tumultos, en trabajos(I), en desvelos, en ayunos(J), 6 en pureza, en conocimiento(K), en paciencia, en bondad(L), en el Espíritu Santo(M), en amor sincero[b](N), 7 en la palabra de verdad(O), en el poder de Dios(P); por armas de justicia(Q) para la derecha y para la izquierda; 8 en honra y en deshonra(R), en mala fama y en buena fama(S); como impostores[c](T), pero veraces(U); 9 como desconocidos, pero bien conocidos; como moribundos, y he aquí, vivimos(V); como castigados[d], pero no condenados a muerte(W); 10 como entristecidos, mas siempre gozosos(X); como pobres, pero enriqueciendo a muchos(Y); como no teniendo nada, aunque poseyéndolo todo(Z).
11 Nuestra boca, oh corintios, os ha hablado con toda franqueza[e](AA). Nuestro corazón se ha abierto de par en par(AB). 12 No estáis limitados[f] por nosotros, sino que estáis limitados[g] en vuestros sentimientos[h](AC). 13 Ahora bien, en igual reciprocidad[i](AD) (os hablo como a niños(AE)) vosotros también abrid de par en par vuestro corazón.
Exhortaciones al creyente
14 No estéis unidos en yugo desigual con los incrédulos(AF), pues ¿qué asociación tienen la justicia y la iniquidad? ¿O qué comunión la luz con las tinieblas(AG)? 15 ¿O qué armonía tiene Cristo con Belial(AH)? ¿O qué tiene en común[j] un creyente(AI) con un incrédulo(AJ)? 16 ¿O qué acuerdo tiene el templo[k] de Dios con los ídolos(AK)? Porque nosotros somos el templo(AL) del Dios vivo(AM), como Dios dijo:
Habitaré en ellos, y andaré entre ellos(AN);
y seré su Dios, y ellos serán mi pueblo(AO).
17 Por tanto, salid de en medio de ellos(AP) y apartaos, dice el Señor;
y no toquéis lo inmundo(AQ),
y yo os recibiré.
18 Y yo seré para vosotros padre,
y vosotros seréis para mí hijos e hijas(AR),
dice el Señor Todopoderoso.

6 Así, pues, nosotros, como colaboradores suyos, os exhortamos también a que no recibáis en vano la gracia de Dios. 2 Porque dice:
En tiempo aceptable te he oído,
Y en día de salvación te he socorrido.(A)
He aquí ahora el tiempo aceptable; he aquí ahora el día de salvación. 3 No damos a nadie ninguna ocasión de tropiezo, para que nuestro ministerio no sea vituperado; 4 antes bien, nos recomendamos en todo como ministros de Dios, en mucha paciencia, en tribulaciones, en necesidades, en angustias; 5 en azotes, en cárceles,(B) en tumultos, en trabajos, en desvelos, en ayunos; 6 en pureza, en ciencia, en longanimidad, en bondad, en el Espíritu Santo, en amor sincero, 7 en palabra de verdad, en poder de Dios, con armas de justicia a diestra y a siniestra; 8 por honra y por deshonra, por mala fama y por buena fama; como engañadores, pero veraces; 9 como desconocidos, pero bien conocidos; como moribundos, mas he aquí vivimos; como castigados, mas no muertos; 10 como entristecidos, mas siempre gozosos; como pobres, mas enriqueciendo a muchos; como no teniendo nada, mas poseyéndolo todo.
11 Nuestra boca se ha abierto a vosotros, oh corintios; nuestro corazón se ha ensanchado. 12 No estáis estrechos en nosotros, pero sí sois estrechos en vuestro propio corazón. 13 Pues, para corresponder del mismo modo (como a hijos hablo), ensanchaos también vosotros.
Somos templo del Dios viviente
14 No os unáis en yugo desigual con los incrédulos; porque ¿qué compañerismo tiene la justicia con la injusticia? ¿Y qué comunión la luz con las tinieblas? 15 ¿Y qué concordia Cristo con Belial? ¿O qué parte el creyente con el incrédulo? 16 ¿Y qué acuerdo hay entre el templo de Dios y los ídolos? Porque vosotros sois el templo del Dios viviente,(C) como Dios dijo:

6 1 Since we work together with him, we are also begging you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 He says, I listened to you at the right time, and I helped you on the day of salvation.[a] Look, now is the right time! Look, now is the day of salvation!
3 We don’t give anyone any reason to be offended about anything so that our ministry won’t be criticized. 4 Instead, we commend ourselves as ministers of God in every way. We did this with our great endurance through problems, disasters, and stressful situations. 5 We went through beatings, imprisonments, and riots. We experienced hard work, sleepless nights, and hunger. 6 We displayed purity, knowledge, patience, and generosity. We served with the Holy Spirit, genuine love, 7 telling the truth, and God’s power. We carried the weapons of righteousness in our right hand and our left hand. 8 We were treated with honor and dishonor and with verbal abuse and good evaluation. We were seen as both fake and real, 9 as unknown and well known, as dying—and look, we are alive! We were seen as punished but not killed, 10 as going through pain but always happy, as poor but making many rich, and as having nothing but owning everything.
Call to relationship and holiness
11 Corinthians, we have spoken openly to you, and our hearts are wide open. 12 There are no limits to the affection that we feel for you. You are the ones who placed boundaries on your affection for us. 13 But as a fair trade—I’m talking to you like you are children—open your hearts wide too.
14 Don’t be tied up as equal partners with people who don’t believe. What does righteousness share with that which is outside the Law? What relationship does light have with darkness? 15 What harmony does Christ have with Satan?[b] What does a believer have in common with someone who doesn’t believe? 16 What agreement can there be between God’s temple and idols? Because we are the temple of the living God. Just as God said, I live with them, and I will move among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.[c] 17 Therefore, come out from among them and be separated, says the Lord. Don’t touch what is unclean. Then I will welcome you.[d] 18 I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.[e]

6 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
6 By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
11 O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
12 Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
13 Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
