¹⁸ With him we are sending^{[a] (A)}the brother who is famous among ^(B)all the churches for his preaching of the gospel.

^18 (A)I urged Titus to go, and sent ^(B)the brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not act in the same spirit? Did we not take the same steps?

¹⁹ And not only that, but he has been ^(A)appointed by the churches to travel with us as we carry out this act of ^(B)grace that is being ministered by us, ^(C)for the glory of the Lord himself and to show our good will.

Live as You Are Called

¹⁷ Only let each person lead the life^{[a] (A)}that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. ^(B)This is my rule in ^(C)all the churches.

²² And with them we are sending our brother whom we have often tested and found earnest in many matters, but who is now more earnest than ever because of his great confidence in you. ²³ As for Titus, he is ^(A)my partner and fellow worker for your benefit. And as for our brothers, they are messengers^[a] of the churches, the glory of Christ.

Triumph in Christ

¹² When ^(A)I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, even though ^(B)a door was opened for me in the Lord,

⁴ who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well.
