8 Mga igsoon, gusto namong isugilon kaninyo ang gibuhat sa mga tumutuo didto sa Macedonia pinaagi sa grasya sa Dios[a] kanila. 2 Bisan daghan ang ilang nasinatian nga mga pagsulay, malipayon gihapon kaayo sila. Mao kana nga manggihatagon kaayo sila bisan labihan sila kakabos. 3 Makapamatuod ako kaninyo nga ang ilang paghatag dili lang sumala sa ilang makaya kondili labaw pa niini, ug kinabubut-on nila kining gibuhat. 4 Kay sila gayod ang nanghangyo kanamo nga kon mahimo hatagan sila ug kahigayonan nga makatabang usab sila sa mga katawhan sa Dios nga nagka-lisod didto sa Jerusalem. 5 Ug dili kay kana lang, kondili una sa tanan gitugyan nila ang ilang kaugalingon sa Ginoo ug kanamo sumala sa kabubut-on sa Dios. Wala gayod kami magdahom nga makabuhat sila niadto.

8 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian(A) churches. 2 In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.(B) 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able,(C) and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing(D) in this service(E) to the Lord’s people.(F) 5 And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.
