¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.^(A) And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors,^(B) as though God were making his appeal through us.^(C) We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.^(D)

⁵ May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind^(A) toward each other that Christ Jesus had, ⁶ so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify^(B) the God and Father^(C) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷ Accept one another,^(D) then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Listening and Doing

¹⁹ My dear brothers and sisters,^(A) take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak^(B) and slow to become angry,

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest^(A) who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are^(B)—yet he did not sin.^(C)
