¹⁴ For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that ^(A)if One died for all, then all died;

²⁰ I have been ^(A)crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh ^(B)I live by faith in the Son of God, ^(C)who loved me and gave Himself for me.

^37 (A)He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. ^38 (B)And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

⁷ For ^(A)none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. ⁸ For if we ^(B)live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. ⁹ For ^(C)to this end Christ died ^[a]and rose and lived again, that He might be ^(D)Lord of both the dead and the living.

¹⁵ But the free gift is not like the ^[a]offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded ^(A)to many.

^8 (A)whom having not ^[a]seen you love. ^(B)Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

^50 (A)nor do you consider that it is expedient for ^[a]us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.” ⁵¹ Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, ⁵² and ^(B)not for that nation only, but ^(C)also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.

The Lamb of God^(A)

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! ^(B)The Lamb of God ^(C)who takes away the sin of the world!

⁴² And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”

⁴³ Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.”

And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” ⁴⁴ Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no ^(A)water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. ⁴⁵ You gave Me no ^(B)kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. ^46 (C)You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. ^47 (D)Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
