⁶ who also made us sufficient as ^(A)ministers of ^(B)the new covenant, not ^(C)of the letter but of the ^[a]Spirit; for ^(D)the letter kills, ^(E)but the Spirit gives life.

^63 (A)It is the Spirit who gives life; the ^(B)flesh profits nothing. The ^(C)words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

⁶ But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve ^(A)in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

A New Covenant

³¹ “Behold, the ^(A)days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—

² For ^(A)the law of ^(B)the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from ^(C)the law of sin and death.

⁶ But now ^(A)He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a ^(B)better covenant, which was established on better promises.

A New Covenant^(C)

⁷ For if that ^(D)first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. ⁸ Because finding fault with them, He says: ^(E)“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— ⁹ not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the ^(F)Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and ^(G)I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

⁴⁵ And so it is written, ^(A)“The first man Adam became a living being.” ^(B)The last Adam became ^(C)a life-giving spirit.

²⁴ to Jesus ^(A)the Mediator of the new covenant, and to ^(B)the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things ^(C)than that of Abel.

²² by so much more Jesus has become a ^[a]surety of a ^(A)better covenant.
