¹⁷ Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where ^(A)the Spirit of the Lord is, ^(B)there is freedom. ¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled faces, ^(C)looking as in a mirror at the ^(D)glory of the Lord, are being ^(E)transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from ^(F)the Lord, the Spirit.

4 Therefore, since we have this ^(G)ministry, as we ^(H)received mercy, we ^(I)do not lose heart, ² but we have renounced the ^(J)things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor ^(K)distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth ^(L)commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God. ³ And even if our ^(M)gospel is ^(N)veiled, it is veiled ^[a]to ^(O)those who are perishing, ⁴ in whose case ^(P)the god of ^(Q)this ^[b]world has ^(R)blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that ^[c]they will not see the ^(S)light of the gospel of the ^(T)glory of Christ, who is the ^(U)image of God. ⁵ For we ^(V)do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants ^[d]on account of Jesus. ⁶ For God, who said, “^(W)Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has ^(X)shone in our hearts to give the ^(Y)Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

⁷ But we have this treasure in ^[e](Z)earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of ^(AA)the power will be of God and not from ourselves;
