Paul Reveals His Heart

7 Therefore, having these promises, ^(A)beloved, ^(B)let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

¹⁰ that I may ^(A)know Him and ^(B)the power of His resurrection and ^[a](C)the fellowship of His sufferings, being ^(D)conformed to His death; ^11 [b]in order that I may ^(E)attain to the resurrection from the dead.

¹² Not that I have already ^(F)obtained it or have already ^(G)become perfect, but I press on ^[c]so that I may ^(H)lay hold of that ^[d]for which also I ^(I)was laid hold of by ^(J)Christ Jesus. ¹³ Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: ^(K)forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, ¹⁴ I ^(L)press on toward the goal for the prize of the ^(M)upward call of God in ^(N)Christ Jesus.

^14 (A)Pursue peace with all men, and the ^(B)sanctification without which no one will ^(C)see the Lord.
