⁵ So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers^(A) to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift,^(B) not as one grudgingly given.^(C)

²⁷ And let this gift,^(A) which your servant has brought to my lord, be given to the men who follow you.

¹¹ Please accept the present^(A) that was brought to you, for God has been gracious to me^(B) and I have all I need.”^(C) And because Jacob insisted,^(D) Esau accepted it.

¹⁷ Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.^(A)

¹⁷ Did I exploit you through any of the men I sent to you? ¹⁸ I urged^(A) Titus^(B) to go to you and I sent our brother^(C) with him. Titus did not exploit you, did he? Did we not walk in the same footsteps by the same Spirit?

⁶ So we urged^(A) Titus,^(B) just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion^(C) this act of grace on your part.

² On the first day of every week,^(A) each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.^(B)

¹⁵ Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God^(A). He stood before him and said, “Now I know^(B) that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift^(C) from your servant.”
