⁷ But as ^(A)you abound in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us—see ^(B)that you abound in this grace also.

Fruitful Growth in the Faith

⁵ But also for this very reason, ^(A)giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue ^(B)knowledge, ⁶ to knowledge self-control, to self-control ^[a]perseverance, to perseverance godliness, ⁷ to godliness brotherly kindness, and ^(C)to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither ^[b]barren ^(D)nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God’s Final Judgment and Glory

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,

^8 (A)And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

⁶ So ^(A)we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this grace in you as well.

² And though I have the gift of ^(A)prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, ^(B)so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Be Sensitive to Conscience

8 Now ^(A)concerning things offered to idols: We know that we all have ^(B)knowledge. ^(C)Knowledge ^[a]puffs up, but love ^[b]edifies. ² And ^(D)if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

⁷ For who ^[a]makes you differ from another? And ^(A)what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

⁵ that you were enriched in everything by Him ^(A)in all ^[a]utterance and all knowledge,
