¹⁸ We are also sending another brother with Titus. All the churches praise him as a preacher of the Good News.

¹⁸ When I urged Titus to visit you and sent our other brother with him, did Titus take advantage of you? No! For we have the same spirit and walk in each other’s steps, doing things the same way.

¹⁹ He was appointed by the churches to accompany us as we take the offering to Jerusalem^[a]—a service that glorifies the Lord and shows our eagerness to help.

¹⁷ Each of you should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you, and remain as you were when God first called you. This is my rule for all the churches.

²² We are also sending with them another of our brothers who has proven himself many times and has shown on many occasions how eager he is. He is now even more enthusiastic because of his great confidence in you. ²³ If anyone asks about Titus, say that he is my partner who works with me to help you. And the brothers with him have been sent by the churches,^[a] and they bring honor to Christ.

¹² When I came to the city of Troas to preach the Good News of Christ, the Lord opened a door of opportunity for me.

⁴ In fact, they once risked their lives for me. I am thankful to them, and so are all the Gentile churches.
