Commendation of Titus

¹⁶ But ^(A)thanks be to God, ^(B)who put into the heart of Titus the same earnest care I have for you.

¹⁷ for ^(A)God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and ^(B)handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.

²⁰ For I have no one ^(A)like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare.

¹³ my spirit ^(A)was not at rest because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I took leave of them and went on to Macedonia.

¹⁴ But ^(B)thanks be to God, who in Christ always ^(C)leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads ^(D)the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

¹² So although I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the one ^(A)who did the wrong, nor for the sake of the one who suffered the wrong, but in order that your earnestness for us might be revealed to you in the sight of God.

⁷ and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.

^40 (A)I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. ^(B)And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.

The New Covenant

^31 (A)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make ^(B)a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

^27 (A)Blessed be the Lord, the God of our fathers, ^(B)who put such a thing as this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem,

¹⁷ And ^(A)whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, ^(B)giving thanks to God the Father through him.
