¹⁰ For ^(A)godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; ^(B)but the sorrow of the world produces death.

¹⁸ When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, ^(A)“Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”

^19 (A)Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

^25 (A)in humility correcting those who are in opposition, ^(B)if God perhaps will grant them repentance, ^(C)so that they may know the truth, ²⁶ and that they may come to their senses and ^(D)escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

^13 (A)So David said to Nathan, ^(B)“I have sinned against the Lord.”

And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has ^(C)put away your sin; you shall not die.

^47 (A)yet when they ^[a]come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, ^(B)saying, ‘We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness’; ⁴⁸ and when they ^(C)return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and ^(D)pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name: ⁴⁹ then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their ^[b]cause, ⁵⁰ and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You; and ^(E)grant them compassion before those who took them captive, that they may have compassion on them

¹⁰ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

¹³ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’

^10 (A)Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, ^(A)“Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.
