¹⁶ What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?^(A) For we are the temple^(B) of the living God.^(C) As God has said:

³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.^(A) They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.^(B)

⁴⁵ Then I will dwell^(A) among the Israelites and be their God.^(B)

¹² I will walk^(A) among you and be your God,^(B) and you will be my people.^(C)

³⁸ They will be my people,^(A) and I will be their God.

²⁶ I will make a covenant of peace^(A) with them; it will be an everlasting covenant.^(B) I will establish them and increase their numbers,^(C) and I will put my sanctuary among them^(D) forever.^{(E) 27} My dwelling place^(F) will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.^(G)

¹⁶ Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple^(A) and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?^{(B) 17} If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

²⁰ Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.^(A) They will be my people,^(B) and I will be their God.^(C)
