¹¹ Oh, dear Corinthian friends! We have spoken honestly with you, and our hearts are open to you.

¹⁵ As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this.

⁸ God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus.

¹⁵ I will gladly spend myself and all I have for you, even though it seems that the more I love you, the less you love me.

⁸ Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.

3 Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross.

³ I’m not saying this to condemn you. I said before that you are in our hearts, and we live or die together with you. ⁴ I have the highest confidence in you, and I take great pride in you. You have greatly encouraged me and made me happy despite all our troubles.

⁴ I wrote that letter in great anguish, with a troubled heart and many tears. I didn’t want to grieve you, but I wanted to let you know how much love I have for you.
