⁴ For while we are in this tent, we groan^(A) and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,^(B) so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

⁵³ For the perishable^(A) must clothe itself with the imperishable,^(B) and the mortal with immortality. ⁵⁴ When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”^[a](C)
