² For in this ^(A)we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our ^[a]habitation which is from heaven,

²³ Not only that, but we also who have ^(A)the firstfruits of the Spirit, ^(B)even we ourselves groan ^(C)within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the ^(D)redemption of our body.

⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and ^(A)this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ^(B)“Death is swallowed up in victory.”

^23 [a]For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a ^(A)desire to depart and be with Christ, which is ^(B)far better.

³ if indeed, ^(A)having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. ⁴ For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, ^(B)but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.

²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me ^(A)from this body of death?

^6 (A)In this you greatly rejoice, though now ^(B)for a little while, if need be, ^(C)you have been ^[a]grieved by various trials, ⁷ that ^(D)the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though ^(E)it is tested by fire, ^(F)may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
