¹¹ For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.

²⁰ Moreover ^(A)the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace ^(B)abounded much more, ²¹ so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

^13 (A)In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

²¹ (for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him:

²² by so much more Jesus has become a ^[b]surety of a ^(B)better covenant.

²³ Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. ²⁴ But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. ²⁵ Therefore He is also ^(C)able to save ^[c]to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives ^(D)to make intercession for them.

The Light of Christ’s Gospel

4 Therefore, since we have this ministry, ^(A)as we have received mercy, we ^(B)do not lose heart.

⁶ who also made us sufficient as ^(A)ministers of ^(B)the new covenant, not ^(C)of the letter but of the ^[a]Spirit; for ^(D)the letter kills, ^(E)but the Spirit gives life.

Glory of the New Covenant

⁷ But if ^(F)the ministry of death, ^(G)written and engraved on stones, was glorious, ^(H)so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away,

Hear the Heavenly Voice

²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For ^(A)if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, ^(B)“Yet once more I ^[a]shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” ²⁷ Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the ^(C)removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

²⁸ Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we ^[b]may ^(D)serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. ²⁹ For ^(E)our God is a consuming fire.
