⁴ For ^(A)I wrote to you out of much affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to cause you pain but to let you know the abundant love that I have for you.

¹² So although I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the one ^(A)who did the wrong, nor for the sake of the one who suffered the wrong, but in order that your earnestness for us might be revealed to you in the sight of God.

^17 (A)“You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but ^(B)you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you ^(C)incur sin because of him. ^18 (D)You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but ^(E)you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

^41 (A)And when he drew near and saw the city, ^(B)he wept over it, ⁴² saying, ^(C)“Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now ^(D)they are hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ For ^(E)the days will come upon you, when your enemies ^(F)will set up a barricade around you and ^(G)surround you and hem you in on every side ^44 (H)and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And ^(I)they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know ^(J)the time of your ^(K)visitation.”

¹⁸ For ^(A)many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you ^(B)even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.

^15 (A)I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If ^(B)I love you more, am I to be loved less?

² For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since ^(A)I betrothed you to one husband, ^(B)to present you ^(C)as a pure virgin to Christ.
