² For if I cause you grief, who is there to make me glad but the one whom I have grieved?

⁸ For although I grieved you with my letter, I do not regret it. Although I did regret it (for^[a] I see that that letter caused you grief, though only briefly),

¹⁴ as you have already understood us in part—that on the day of the Lord Jesus we are your boast even as you are our boast.^(A)

²⁶ If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.

¹⁵ Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.

²⁹ Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I am not indignant?^(A)
