¹¹ lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

⁸ Be ^[a]sober, be ^[b]vigilant; ^[c]because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

^11 (A)Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the ^[a]wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against ^(B)principalities, against powers, against ^(C)the rulers of ^[b]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

³ But I fear, lest somehow, as ^(A)the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds ^(B)may be corrupted from the ^[a]simplicity that is in Christ.

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial^(A)

^31 [a]And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, ^(B)Satan has asked for you, that he may ^(C)sift you as wheat.

⁴ whose minds ^(A)the god of this age ^(B)has blinded, who do not believe, lest ^(C)the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, ^(D)who is the image of God, should shine on them.

⁹ So ^(A)the great dragon was cast out, ^(B)that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, ^(C)who deceives the whole world; ^(D)he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ^(E)“Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, ^(F)who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. ¹¹ And ^(G)they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, ^(H)and they did not love their lives to the death.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, ^[a]“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ^(A)‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

¹⁴ And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into ^(A)an angel of light.
