¹⁴ Here I am, ready to come to you this third time, and I will not be a burden because I do not want what is yours but you, for children ought not to save up for their parents but parents for their children.^(A)

³⁵ The Lord has greatly blessed my master, and he has become wealthy; he has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female slaves, camels and donkeys.^{(A) 36} And Sarah my master’s wife bore a son to my master when she was old, and he has given him all that he has.^(B)

³³ just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage but that of many, so that they may be saved.^(A)

²⁴ Do not seek your own advantage but that of the other.^(A)

¹⁴ Then Rachel and Leah answered him, “Is there any portion or inheritance left to us in our father’s house?^{(A) 15} Are we not regarded by him as foreigners? For he has sold us, and he has been using up the money given for us.

Fatherly Admonition

¹⁴ I am not writing this to make you ashamed but to admonish you as my beloved children. ¹⁵ For though you might have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers. Indeed, in Christ Jesus I fathered you through the gospel.^(A)

² Mortal, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: To the shepherds—thus says the Lord God: Woe, you shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep?^(A)
