Love for the Church

^14 (A)Now for the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be burdensome to you; for ^(B)I do not seek yours, but you. ^(C)For the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

³³ just ^(A)as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

¹⁴ Then Rachel and Leah answered and said to him, ^(A)“Is there still any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house? ¹⁵ Are we not considered strangers by him? For ^(B)he has sold us, and also completely consumed our money.

³⁵ The Lord ^(A)has blessed my master greatly, and he has become great; and He has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys. ³⁶ And Sarah my master’s wife ^(B)bore a son to my master when she was old; and ^(C)to him he has given all that he has.

Sparing the Church

¹⁵ And in this confidence ^(A)I intended to come to you before, that you might have ^(B)a second benefit—

²⁴ Let no one seek his own, but each one ^(A)the other’s well-being.

Paul’s Paternal Care

¹⁴ I do not write these things to shame you, but ^(A)as my beloved children I warn you. ¹⁵ For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for ^(B)in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

² “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: ^(A)“Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
