^6 (A)and being ready to punish all disobedience when ^(B)your obedience is fulfilled.

⁹ For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are ^(A)obedient in all things.

¹⁵ And his affections are greater for you as he remembers ^(A)the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him.

²⁶ And he spoke to the congregation, saying, ^(A)“Depart now from the tents of these wicked men! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.” ²⁷ So they got away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, their sons, and their little ^(B)children.

²⁸ And Moses said: ^(C)“By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them ^(D)of my own will. ²⁹ If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are ^(E)visited by the common fate of all men, then the Lord has not sent me. ³⁰ But if the Lord creates ^(F)a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they ^(G)go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the Lord.”

^2 (A)I have told you before, and foretell as if I were present the second time, and now being absent ^[a]I write to those ^(B)who have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again ^(C)I will not spare—

^10 (A)Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the ^(B)authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction.

^3 (A)For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. ⁴ In the ^(B)name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, ^(C)with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, ^5 (D)deliver such a one to ^(E)Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord ^[a]Jesus.

^3 (A)But Peter said, “Ananias, why has ^(B)Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? ⁴ While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

⁵ Then Ananias, hearing these words, ^(C)fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. ⁶ And the young men arose and ^(D)wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.

⁷ Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. ⁸ And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?”

She said, “Yes, for so much.”

⁹ Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together ^(E)to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” ^10 (F)Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. ^11 (G)So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.

¹⁰ Therefore, if I come, I will call to mind his deeds which he does, ^(A)prating^[a] against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and forbids those who wish to, putting them out of the church.
