⁶ Now if we are afflicted, ^(A)it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

¹⁰ Therefore ^(A)I endure all things for the sake of the ^[a]elect, ^(B)that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

⁴ who ^(A)comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any ^[a]trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

¹⁵ For ^(A)all things are for your sakes, that ^(B)grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Seeing the Invisible

¹⁶ Therefore we ^(C)do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is ^(D)being renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For ^(E)our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, ^18 (F)while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

To Live Is Christ

¹⁹ For I know that ^(A)this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

⁵ Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also ^(A)has given us the Spirit as ^[a]a guarantee.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those ^(A)who are the called according to His purpose.

^13 (A)Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, ^(B)which is your glory.

¹⁰ For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, ^(A)that we may be partakers of His holiness. ¹¹ Now no ^[a]chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields ^(B)the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
