¹⁷ Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan ^(A)according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No?

^37 (A)But let ^[a]your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

¹² But above all, my brethren, ^(A)do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into ^[a]judgment.

² But I beg you ^(A)that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. ³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

¹⁸ But as God is ^(A)faithful, our ^[a]word to you was not Yes and No. ¹⁹ For ^(B)the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, ^(C)Silvanus, and ^(D)Timothy—was not Yes and No, ^(E)but in Him was Yes. ^20 (F)For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

³² Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” says the Lord, “and tell them, and cause My people to err by their ^(A)lies and by ^(B)their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not ^(C)profit this people at all,” says the Lord.

Paul’s Sincerity

¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in ^[a]simplicity and ^(A)godly sincerity, ^(B)not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.
