²³et il ne s'humilia pas devant l'Éternel, comme s'était humilié Manassé, son père, car lui, Amon, se rendit de plus en plus coupable.

²⁴Ses serviteurs conspirèrent contre lui, et le firent mourir dans sa maison.

²⁵Mais le peuple du pays frappa tous ceux qui avaient conspiré contre le roi Amon; et le peuple du pays établit roi Josias, son fils, à sa place.

²³But unlike his father Manasseh, he did not humble^(A) himself before the Lord; Amon increased his guilt.

²⁴Amon’s officials conspired against him and assassinated him in his palace. ²⁵Then the people^(B) of the land killed all who had plotted against King Amon, and they made Josiah his son king in his place.
