³⁰ This same Hezekiah blocked the upper outlet of the water from the Gihon Spring^(A) and channelled it smoothly downwards and westwards to the city of David.^(B) Hezekiah succeeded in everything he did. ³¹ When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers^(C) were sent^[a] to him to enquire about the miraculous sign^(D) that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.^(E)
