3 He burned sacrifices in the Valley of Ben Hinnom(A) and sacrificed his children(B) in the fire, engaging in the detestable(C) practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites. 4 He offered sacrifices and burned incense at the high places, on the hilltops and under every spreading tree.
5 Therefore the Lord his God delivered him into the hands of the king of Aram.(D) The Arameans defeated him and took many of his people as prisoners and brought them to Damascus.
He was also given into the hands of the king of Israel, who inflicted heavy casualties on him.

3 He burned incense in (A)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and burned (B)his children in the (C)fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had (D)cast out before the children of Israel. 4 And he sacrificed and burned incense on the [a]high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.
Syria and Israel Defeat Judah(E)
5 Therefore (F)the Lord his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria. They (G)defeated him, and carried away a great multitude of them as captives, and brought them to Damascus. Then he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who defeated him with a great slaughter.

3 Quemó además incienso en el valle de Ben-hinom(A), e hizo pasar a sus hijos por fuego(B), conforme a las abominaciones de las naciones que el Señor había arrojado[a] de delante de los hijos de Israel(C). 4 Y sacrificó y quemó incienso en los lugares altos(D), en los montes y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.
5 Por lo cual el Señor su Dios lo entregó en manos del rey de los arameos(E), que lo derrotaron[b], tomaron de él gran número de cautivos y los llevaron a Damasco. Y también él fue entregado en manos del rey de Israel, el cual lo hirió con gran mortandad[c].
