    I will speak out in the anguish^(B) of my spirit,
    I will complain^(C) in the bitterness of my soul.^(D)

¹² You gave me life^(A) and showed me kindness,^(B)
    and in your providence^(C) watched over^(D) my spirit.

    And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?^(A)

³⁹ if I have devoured its yield without payment^(A)
