¹⁶ And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David, and ^(A)Abijah^[a] his son reigned in his place.

Abijah Reigns in Judah

13 ^(B)In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, ^(C)Abijah began to reign over Judah. ² He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was ^(D)Micaiah^[b] the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah.

^(E)Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
