²⁶ He ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and to the territory of Egypt.^(A)

^21 [a]Solomon was sovereign over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, even to the border of Egypt; they brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.^[b](A)]]

¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates,^(A)

²⁴ For he had dominion over all the region west of the Euphrates,^[a] and he had peace on all sides.^(A)

³¹ I will set your borders from the Red Sea^[a] to the sea of the Philistines and from the wilderness to the Euphrates, for I will hand over to you the inhabitants of the land, and you shall drive them out before you.^(A)

¹⁶ On his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed, “King of kings and Lord of lords.”^(A)

² This is the land that still remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all those of the Geshurites ³ (from the Shihor, which is near Egypt, northward to the boundary of Ekron, it is reckoned as Canaanite; there are five rulers of the Philistines, those of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron), and those of the Avvim^{(A) 4} in the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the boundary of the Amorites, ⁵ and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath, ⁶ all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians. I will myself drive them out from before the Israelites; only allot the land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.^{(B) 7} Now, therefore, divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.”
