³ And Solomon went to Hamath Zobah and seized it.

³ And ^(A)David ^[a]defeated ^[b]Hadadezer king of Zobah as far as Hamath, as he went to establish his power by the River Euphrates.

²³ And God raised up another adversary against him, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who had fled from his lord, ^(A)Hadadezer king of Zobah. ²⁴ So he gathered men to him and became captain over a band of raiders, ^(B)when David killed those of Zobah. And they went to Damascus and dwelt there, and reigned in Damascus. ²⁵ He was an adversary of Israel all the days of Solomon (besides the trouble that Hadad caused); and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.

³ David also defeated Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of ^(A)Zobah, as he went to recover ^(B)his territory at the River Euphrates.

⁸ from Mount Hor you shall mark out your border ^(A)to the entrance of Hamath; then the direction of the border shall be toward ^(B)Zedad;

²¹ So they went up and spied out the land ^(A)from the Wilderness of Zin as far as ^(B)Rehob, near the entrance of ^(C)Hamath.
