³ Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it.

³ Moreover, David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah,^(A) in the vicinity of Hamath, when he went to set up his monument at^[a] the Euphrates River.^(B)

²³ And God raised up against Solomon another adversary,^(A) Rezon son of Eliada, who had fled from his master, Hadadezer^(B) king of Zobah. ²⁴ When David destroyed Zobah’s army, Rezon gathered a band of men around him and became their leader; they went to Damascus,^(C) where they settled and took control. ²⁵ Rezon was Israel’s adversary as long as Solomon lived, adding to the trouble caused by Hadad. So Rezon ruled in Aram^(D) and was hostile toward Israel.

³ Moreover, David defeated Hadadezer^(A) son of Rehob, king of Zobah,^(B) when he went to restore his monument at^[a] the Euphrates^(C) River.

⁸ and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath.^(A) Then the boundary will go to Zedad,

²¹ So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin^(A) as far as Rehob,^(B) toward Lebo Hamath.^(C)
